Pastors Carter & Ann Foster |
|
Pastors Carter and Ann Foster became part of Covenant Church in September 2006 when the church they led for 21 years in Colleyville, TX merged with Covenant Church. The Fosters began their pastoral ministry in 1961 while attending Shorter College in Rome, GA. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Louisville, KY to attend Southern Seminary, where they pastored churches in Kentucky and Indiana before moving to Texas in 1979 and planting a church in San Antonio. You will recognize Pastor Ann because she walks with crutches as a result of being struck with Polio when she was four years old. However, this lovely lady describes her weakness as an opportunity for God to demonstrate his strength. Pastor Ann has taught voice lessons for many years, but after receiving her Doctorate of Philosophy with an emphasis on Theology in January of 2006, she now focuses on preaching, teaching, and counseling. As for Pastor Carter, he is known for his loving heart and quick wit. He has the gift of taking complex and complicated truths and making them simple and understandable. His passion is to build people by helping them fit into teams as they mature in Christ Jesus. Pastor Carter serves on the Board of Directors for Reconciliation Ministries (the ministry founded by Bishop Joseph Garlington), Faith Mission in Del Rio and The Bair Foundation (a Christian foster child care organization). The Fosters are parents of five adult children and fifteen grand children. They use the vast skills learned in over 46 years of ministry to serve Covenant Church in marriage and premarital counseling. |
