DAY EIGHT - REFOCUS

Most of us can’t spare the time to step away from our everyday lives and responsibilities in order to dedicate several days to a vision retreat, to refocus on our goals. This daily DEVOTIONAL and the message series #GOALS on Sundays and our Wednesday night series, LIFE DETOX - have been created to dedicate an extended time of seeking personal goals and focus for the year ahead.

TODAY begins the second week of our virtual vision retreat with an emphasis on REFOCUSING. Philippians 4:8 gives us guidance on where our focus should be drawn-

Finally, my brothers and sisters, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of things.

Gaining focus requires that we are able to focus out certain variables so that we can focus on the solid subject of our greater goals. Over the next few days, we will dive into the causes of vision loss in our lives. When we identify the potential ways in which the enemy can blur our vision, we are then equipped and more greatly prepared to fend off the distraction to purpose. We must be ready and able to REFOCUS again and again throughout our lives. As we move through the subject of GOALS and finding our focus, we do not want to make the assumption that all of us have put our goals into words. Many times we have an idea or a desire to achieve something but we haven’t actually wrapped that thought in words.

Our challenge today is to write out one goal. This goal should be personal and can apply to your relationships, career, family, finances, health, spirituality etc. It almost seems too simple but it can be overwhelming. But just start with one. Don’t over-think it but do say a prayer before you put pen to paper. Pastor Kathy Hayes has written a prayer of agreement below to get us going…

Father, in the powerful name of Jesus. I thank you for your trust in me.

In Jeremiah 29:11 You said "I Know" the plans I have for you… "That's Me"!! Plans not to harm me, plans to prosper me, to give me a hope and a future. It's a privilege to trust in You, Most High God!! I release total dependence on you to reveal those plans and my ability to receive them.

Amen

EVER BE by BETHEL is a great song to remind us to keep our heart, thoughts and words focused on Him today as we pursue His best for our lives.
