Main Idea - You’re invited, this is an invitation to receive and know what discipleship really means. There are steps to this study and you can find them in the book of Mark 8:34-36 (NKJV)
Steps of Discipleship: This week is Desire
Element of knowledge and understanding. God doesn’t want you to have it all figured out in your mind but in your heart. The Lord wants to know us intimately, God wants us to know Him as our Father. Giving Him all the glory and all the power and having that DESIRE to do all God has called us to do and to take time to get to know Him. If you don’t desire to go after Him then you’re not going to get the next 3 steps right.
You don’t have to get to a place of desperation to get to that desire. Just know how good He is, and get to a place of wanting to know Him more. The deeper we dig, the better He gets!
Having denial in your own purpose and will. To deny our own desires and choose His. Deny our own purpose and will to follow God’s that He has for our life. For His will is greater than ours.
Your calling in life, what’s your touch down, what’s your end zone? Pick up the cross of what God has called you to do and carry it.
- Follow Me Matthew 11:28
It’s important to know what it means to be a disciple. You must understand what you’re getting into and knowing what it represents. We want to help lead you to better questions, not just getting answers.
“May you be covered in the dust of your Rabi”
-His Spirit knows His plans, and we have His Spirit so He knows our plans.
-Questions are truly better than answers, God isn’t afraid of your questions.
-It’s a better life to live when you lose your life for Him.
-Our greatest calling in life is to worship our Father.
-Equip the saints for the work of the ministry.
Reflective Questions for Invite Only, A Path to Discipleship:
- Have you lost your life?
- If you have achieved success goals that you have set for yourself, does that mean you have achieved success in God’s sight?
- Where am I at in this process?
- Have I really committed my life to Him?
- When is the last time you have measured your life?
- Have we followed Jesus close enough? Whose dust are you covered in?
