Proverbs 1:20-22

Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square; on top of the wall she cries out, at the city gate she makes her speech: “How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?”

Psalm 4:2-3

How long will you people turn my glory into shame?
How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?
Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him.

Matthew 4:16-17

The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

In life, there are warning signs everywhere we go. From the weather, to our diets, to traffic signs; we are continually getting a “heads up” for potential dangers. Despite all of these warnings, we all hear tragic stories of people who lost their lives not paying attention to the signs. People drive the wrong way into oncoming traffic all the time and we wonder, how in the world that can happen, while we are blissfully unaware of all the signs we have missed. The world is a dangerous place, especially when we ignore the warnings. The same is true in our personal lives. God’s perfect Word has warned us of every potential pitfall and trap that we can face in life. Whether we believe it or not, following His commandments and guidance on how to live our lives can protect us from all kinds of trouble. God’s Word also tells us that following His guidance is only possible by His grace. Only as we walk in His light will we see the signs.

1) What warning signs has God placed before you?
2) Are there warnings that you saw but ignored last year that you can learn and grow from?
3)Wisdom is calling out to us – what are you hearing wisdom say to you today?
